Associate Professor of Cell and Developmental Biology Michael Rape has been awarded the Vilcek Prizes for Creative Promise in Biomedical Science. The Creative Promise Prizes are awarded annually in biomedical science to encourage and support younger immigrants who have already demonstrated exceptional achievements, and who often face significant challenges early in their careers.

The Department of Molecular and Cell Biology (MCB) is seeking applications for four faculty positions at the Assistant Professor level (tenured track) in the areas listed below, including a joint position with the Department of Chemistry (CHEM). We seek candidates with Ph. D. and/or M.D. degree who have demonstrated excellence, originality and productivity in research, and interest in undergraduate and graduate teaching. Associate Professor of Immunology and Pathology Greg Barton has been awarded a $1 million dollar grant from the Lupus Research Institute (LRI) Distinguished Innovator Initiative for his research on the regulation of Toll-like receptors and its role in autoimmune attacks.

The Raymond and Beverly Sackler Center for Biomedical, Physical and Engineering Sciences has appointed Professor of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Structural Biology Carlos Bustamante and Professor of Genetics, Genomics and Development Lior Pachter as The Raymond and Beverly Sackler Chair in Biophysics and the Raymond and Beverly Sackler Chair in Computational Biology respectively.
