Q. What aspects of your MCB degree program best helped you prepare for your career?
A. The MCB department’s advisors really helped support me throughout the four years I was at Cal. They made sure I was up to date with all the classes I needed for Dental School as well as on track for graduation.
Q. How did you decide on your current career path?
A. I always knew I wanted to pursue a career in healthcare, but after shadowing a general dentist during my sophomore year, I decided to pursue dentistry. I like how this field is at the intersection of art and sciences. Additionally, I enjoy working with my hands and creating art during my free time, which has allowed me to become efficient during the dental operative classes that I’m currently taking. I also enjoyed working at a non-profit dental clinic during my gap year, which really reinforced my decision to become a dentist. I took immense pleasure in interacting with patients at the clinic and hope to serve them in the future as a dentist!
Q. Share your favorite Berkeley lunch place, coffee shop, landmark study spot...etc.
A. I enjoyed studying at the East Asian Library at Cal, and my favorite dinner places were Afghan Burrito and Great China!
