Q. Where are you originally from?
A. I grew up in the High Desert in Southern California.
Q. Where did you receive your PhD and what was your primary research focus?
A. I received my PhD from Purdue University in Indiana. My main research focus was utilizing zebrafish models of retinal degeneration to perform behavior-based drug screening and identify novel treatments.
Q. When not in the lab, you can be found...
A. Probably at a local nursery spending too much money on plants.
Q. What are you looking forward to exploring/doing in Berkeley and/or the Bay Area post-pandemic & why?
A. I look forward to enjoying the diverse selection of local restaurants and bars in-person.
