Q. What aspects of your MCB degree program best helped you prepare for your career?
A. MCB Follies -- all of my best scientific ideas have come from unexpected places, and having a great community among my peers has been absolutely critical for generating those ideas. MCB Follies (and other community events like it) have exposed me to people and ideas that I will continue to rely on for my entire life, and that are truly irreplaceable.
Q. How did you decide on your current career path?
A. Academics is a field where you can be relatively slow and methodical, and can develop very deep long-term relationships with your peers, mentors and mentees. Those things appeal to me, so I have continued in academics.
