Q. What aspects of your MCB degree program best helped you prepare for your career?
A. Berkeley's MCB BA degree offered limited preparation for my career. As an international transfer, the competitive environment at Berkeley left me with few opportunities. However, pursuing research at Crystal Mackall's lab at Stanford University sparked my interest in the field I now specialize in. Currently, I am actively involved in several clinical trials utilizing FDA-approved CAR T cell therapies to treat both hematologic and solid tumors, as well as contributing to downstream bioinformatics analyses of the clinical data.
Q. How did you decide on your current career path?
A. My research interest lies at the intersection of computational immunology and artificial intelligence. I'm pursuing a Ph.D. degree, which is driven by the passion to understand the cellular and molecular mechanisms of the immune system to develop AI-driven approaches for understanding disease pathogenesis.
Q. Share your favorite Berkeley lunch place, coffee shop, landmark study spot...etc.
A. Computer station at the 2nd floor of DOE, Chemistry library
