Q. What aspects of your MCB degree program best helped you prepare for your career?
A. The courses I took as part of my MCB BA degree exposed me to the vast field of genetics & genomics. After taking one of the electives (Computational biology), I was so intrigued that I decided to pursue a postbac position just to gain skills in this exciting field. The experience that I gained through the postbac position motivated me to pursue PhD focusing on computational biology.
Q. How did you decide on your current career path?
A. After pursuing postbac research for a year, I decided to pursue PhD in Genetics & Genomics. I wanted to focus on statistical genetics and genetic epidemiology.
