Q. What aspects of your MCB degree program best helped you prepare for your career?
A. Being an MCB major at Berkeley really helped me understand science and the human body on a deeper level. Being a medical assistant, I am able to use my knowledge and curiosity from the past four years to help me take care of patients to the best of my ability and really empathize and understand what they’re going through.
Q. How did you decide on your current career path?
A. I have wanted to become a doctor for a very long time and helping patients through their hardships is something that I feel very passionate about. It makes my life meaningful knowing I was able to utilize my skills and knowledge to help others. Being a medical assistant allows me to take what I learned in the classroom for four years and apply it to clinical challenges I experience every day. Throughout my journey in medicine, I hope to take what I have learned from Berkeley and use it to help patients and further my understanding of science and the human body.
Q. Share your favorite Berkeley lunch place, coffee shop, landmark study spot...etc.
A. My favorite lunch place was definitely mezzo! Their sandwiches were my comfort meal right before my big exams!
