Q. What aspects of your MCB degree program best helped you prepare for your career?
A. The rigorous coursework in Berkeley’s Molecular and Cell Biology (MCB) BA program laid a strong foundation for my career, particularly through the challenging biology classes that fostered critical thinking and a deep understanding of complex scientific concepts. The research opportunities were cutting-edge, allowing me to engage with innovative projects that pushed the boundaries of current knowledge. Beyond academics, the friendships and connections I made with peers and faculty provided invaluable support and mentorship, creating a lasting network that continues to benefit my personal and professional growth.
Q. How did you decide on your current career path?
A. I decided on pursuing being a Physician through my experiences as an EMT with various organizations in Berkeley and Oakland County. Serving diverse communities allowed me to build meaningful connections while providing hands-on care in high-pressure situations. These experiences not only deepened my passion for healthcare but also reinforced the importance of community engagement and compassionate service. The bonds I formed with patients and colleagues helped solidify my commitment to pursuing a career where I could make a tangible impact on people’s lives.
