Congratulations to the Henry Wheeler Center for Emerging and Neglected Diseases (CEND) 2022 Fellows in MCB: Janet Peace Babirye, Meghan Bacher, Marian Fairgrieve, and Hannah Nilsson. Every year, CEND supports graduate students and post-doctoral fellows in their research through the Irving H.
Professor of Biochemistry, Biophysics, and Structural Biology Michelle Chang has received the 2002 Centenary Prize from the Royal Society of Chemistry. The award recognizes seminal contributions in biosynthesis and biocatalysis to advance energy and environmental science and biomedical research, and for excellence in communication.

Professor of Cell Biology, Development and Physiology Rebecca Heald is one of nine UC Berkeley faculty members elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences (AAAS). One of the nation's oldest honorary societies, the AAAS honors excellence and has convened leaders to examine new ideas, address issues of importance to the nation and the world, and advance the public good.
