Corn Lab, MCB-CDB Junior, 2017

In the Corn Lab, Jennifer Eunhee Chung works on CRISPR editing to cure hematopoietic diseases. She has been using gene editing tools to discover new genomic regions that regulate fetal globin expression, which is protective for both sickle cell disease and beta thalassemias. Professor Corn says that her work “could someday lead to cures for these diseases.”

"I've learned so much by working in as collaborative and supporting an environment as the Corn lab. Both large experiments and daily tasks are made more valuable by having great mentorship and company!" says Chung.
