MCB Affiliated Professor Dan Fletcher (who is Chair of the Department of Bioengineering) was one of the thirteen UC Berkeley faculty that were named Chan Zuckerberg Biohub Investigators. Fletcher "will launch a new effort to map the topography and spatial organization of cell-cell surfaces, starting with macrophages in their interactions with tumor cells. This comes out of his studies of how cells assemble molecular-scale parts into micron-scale structures necessary for cell motility, cell-cell signaling and host-pathogen interactions."
A few other UC Berkeley faculty that have close collaborations with Molecular & Cell Biology were named as investigators as well, including Laura Waller, Marquita Landry, and Ke Xu. Congratulations to them all!
