A new research initiative led by Professors Jennifer Doudna and Jill Banfield at the Innovative Genomics Institute received $70 million in funding for their project entitled “Engineering the Microbiome with CRISPR to Improve our Climate and Health.” It is the largest scientific project funded by The Audacious Project and involves collaboration across three UC campuses (UC Berkeley, UC Davis and UC San Francisco).
