In a normal prostate, the secretory glands exhibit double-layered epithelium.
Notes:
The inside cells (luminal) secrete prostatic fluid, while the outside cells (basal) are reserve cells that replace secretory cells that die.
This image will be important to keep in mind when we look at a cancerous gland later on.
Although it is not entirely clear on this slide, the nuclei of these cells do not have visible nucleoli.
