Below is the application for the NSF REU program for Summer 2008. For information about the program see the Program Introduction. The application deadline is  February 1, 2008.

Please fill out this check list before filling out the application. If you cannot check all of the boxes, then you are not eligible to participate in this program.

U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident __

Interested in biological research __

In Fall 2008 a junior or above at home institution __

Free to participate between May 31 and August 9, 2008 __

Have completed at least one course in biology, one in chemistry by May 31, 2008__
If you have checked off every requirement in the list above, fill in all the requested information below and then click the Submit button. Please note that you must fill out the entire application including the short essay before you are able to submit it. Please print the confirmation page for your records.

In addition to the application below, all applicants are required to submit:

• Two letters of recommendation. Please download the recommendation form below and forward it electronically to your references. Please ask your references to e-mail the completed form as an attachment to ucb.reu.letters@gmail.com      Recommendation Form (doc)
• An official transcript. Transcripts should be mailed to: REU Applications, University of California, MCB, 38 LSA, Berkeley, CA  94720-3200.
• If accepted, proof of health insurance
