Welcome to the website for the UC Berkeley Molecular and Cell Biology Postdoc Lunch Club (PDLC)!
MCB POSTDOC LUNCH CLUB
MCB PDLC occurs two times a month rotating through two different buildings! We know how hard it is to get away from the bench, and this is even more difficult if you have to travel across campus to another building. That’s why we will be taking this show on the road! You read that right, this meeting will be coming to you! We will be hosting the PDLC in LKS and Weill/LSA.
Come meet other MCB postdocs in all phases of their career. Scheduled talks from other postdocs will be interspersed with professional development discussions.
We want all postdocs to feel comfortable attending and presenting. If you are a first or second year postdoc, maybe you’d like to give an introductory talk about what you did as a grad student or what you are currently planning to do as a postdoc. Are you a middle years postdoc? Then maybe you’d like to give a Research In Progress talk about a technique you’re trying and would like advice on? Or an experiment you’ve recently finished and you’d like to explore what experiments you’d like to do next? Are you a postdoc who is finishing up and planning on giving a job talk or a conference talk? You could use this space to practice either of those talks and receive feedback in a room of your peers from across MCB disciplines.
Whatever you need, this is a space to do it! No matter if you’re just starting or you’ve been here for a minute, we want to hear from you and about you!
Importantly, we will also be hosting a catered, individually-wrapped lunch outside after the PDLC talk. PDLC gives us all the chance to catch up with other postdocs in a relaxed environment, foster community between MCB postdocs and a free lunch! What do you have to lose?
