Professor and Principal Investigator

Bronwyn Lucas

Assistant Professor of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Structural Biology

Bronwyn trained in Molecular Biology studying the regulation of mRNA localization and turnover by RNA-binding proteins. As a postdoc she contributed to the development and testing of 2D Template Matching, a new approach to visualize and characterize macromolecular structure directly in the cell using cryo-EM. Now, in her own lab, she is combining these two areas to develop new tools to visalize RNA-protein complex assembly directly in cells. Bronwyn has expertise in RNA biochemistry, bioinformatics, cryogenic electron microscopy (cryo-EM), focused ion beam (FIB)-milling and image processing. Languages: English (native speaker), Français (working proficiency), 中文 (beginner/ intermediate)

Postdoc Applicants

The Lucas Lab is hiring postdocs to work on exciting new projects at the forefront of in situ cryo-EM and cryo-ET. Previous experience in biophysics, image processing, FIB-milling, cryo-EM or cryo-ET is desirable, but not necessary. Interested applicants should reach out to Dr Lucas directly via email with a CV, an explanation of your research interests and a statement of why you are interested in working with us.
