Research
I completed my undergraduate degree in biology at East Carolina University where I developed new tools for plant biotechnology. Additionally, I spent my summers during college researching a repeat expansion that causes the motor neuron disease amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. I became fascinated with the different stress response pathways that control proteostasis, which are seemingly perturbed in neurodegenerative diseases. Now, in the Dillin lab, I am interested in dissecting the role of the cytoplasmic stress response (with Ryo Higuchi-Sanabria) in aging and how this stress is communicated throughout an organism.
