I received my PhD from UCSD where my research in the Dillin Lab focused on characterizing the longevity related to electron transport chain dysfunction.  We found a cell non-autonomous response to tissue specific ETC knockdown resulting in upregulation of the mitochondrial unfolded protein response.  Continuing in this line of research, as Staff Research Associate, I assist current and former lab members in their projects related to mitochondria, stress, and longevity.  We currently study the relationship between disease aggregative proteins and the mitochondrial stress response.
