What sparked your interest in science?
Learning about neurons and action potentials in my high school psychology class. I was hooked on neurobiology from then on out!
What attracted you to UC Berkeley?
The strong sense of community and support that I got during the interviews.
What are you currently working on in the lab?
I'm upregulating the mTOR signaling pathway in striatal neurons and investigating the resulting morphological and physiological changes.
Describe your ultimate dream/goal for your future.
To somehow make a living studying neurons, and make advances in the field that help us understand how the brain is working in healthy and diseased states.
When I'm not in the lab, I can be found...
If you could go back in time and give yourself a piece of advice during your first year in graduate school, what would you say?
Keep everything in perspective. Grad school is hard sometimes, but remember why you're here!
