At a Glance - MCB Major Requirements Print E-mail
Below is a quick reference guide to course requirements for the MCB major. Additional details about the courses are available in the General Catalog and the Online Schedule of Classes. Please contact a staff academic advisor if you have any questions.

Lower division course requirements for all majors except BMB track 2: Biological Chemistry:


*Students interested in the BMB, track 2 - Biological Chemistry, must take Chemistry 1B and Chemistry 112A/112B instead of Chem 3A/3B.

Upper division course requirements:
You might notice that there are some changes to our major tracks. We will hold an info session on Tuesday, April 14, place TBD, 5-6:30 pm to answer all your questions.


# BMB Track 2 = Biological Chemistry. NOTE: A simultaneous degree in Chemical Biology and Biological Chemistry will not be permitted by the Department of Molecular & Cell Biology. 

Notes

  • MCB C100A must be taken before 110.
  • In cases where two or more courses are listed separated by a / you must take one of them.
  • Historically, the BMB, GG&D and IMMUNO tracks were referred to as Plan 1 and CDB and NEURO as Plan 2.
  • A list of approved electives is available on the page with major requirements.
