Morphogenesis and specification of the muscle lineage during Xenopus laevis embryo development

Armbien is now pursuing his J.D. at Berkeley Law emphasizing intellectual property and public policy. Currently, he is a summer associate in the Patent Prosecution group at Cooley LLP. 

After completing his J.D., Armbien plans to build a professional network and gain experience as a patent attorney. Armbien's long-term goals are to advocate for re-structuring the patent system, increasing funding for basic science research, and enriching the scientific workforce through reforms in immigration policies. He is passionate about integrating science into the public discourse and has been very active in science education and outreach. Recently, he launched initiatives to increase collaborations between the law school and STEM programs at UC Berkeley through his organization, Bringing Law Into Science & Society (BLISS).
