Polymerase Group

Human DNA Polymerase epsilon is implicated in DNA replication, recombination and repair. Our lab is investigating several aspects of these possible functions by examining the cellular localization of pol epsilon, both through the cell cycle and in response to DNA damage. Another is probing the role that it appears to play in coordinating the early steps in apoptosis. Finally, research is ongoing into the interactions of pol epsilon with Mdm2, a protein known to regulate cell cycle progression and the CHRAC complex, a mediator of chromatin remodeling.
