Carlos Daniel de Magalhaes, Ph.D.

Post-doctoral Fellow

Research

I come from St. Quentin, a small city north of France, and I completed my Ph.D. program at the Pierre & Marie Curie University in Paris. There, I studied the role of IGF-1R in longevity and neuroprotection using different mouse models of IGF-1R knockouts. I joined the Dillin lab in mid-2009, and I’m using both C.elegans and mouse models to understand the molecular mechanisms of dietary restriction mediated extension of lifespan, as well as protein aggregation in neurodegenerative diseases.
