Grades are not assigned on a strict percentile basis but are adjusted relative to average student performance. Midterm 1 counts for 30% of your grade, so if did not do as well as you hoped, you still have time to improve your grade by performing better on the next two exams and in section. Professor Amacher is not able to answer individual emails about midterm grades, but midterm status reports will go out soon to students whose performance on the midterm would indicate a grade of less than C minus.
