Discussion
section: 3 quizzes, 25 pts each Midterm I
– OPEN BOOK – 150 pts – Wed, Oct. 1, GPB 100 Midterm
II – 150 pts – Wed. Nov. 5, 105 North Gate Final
– 250 pts – Sat., Dec. 13 Exams and quizzes: There will be two
midterm exams and one final exam. The comprehensive final will cover all Brem
material and select topics from earlier lectures. There will be three
quizzes, each worth 25 points, given during discussion section. You will be
given 30 minutes for each quiz, and questions on the quizzes will be similar
to questions in the problem sets. Review sessions: The instructor
responsible for each exam will hold office hours or give a one hour review
session, often during the class period on the day of the exam. The GSIs may
have a review session or extended office hours. The location and time for the
GSI review sessions/office hours will be announced. Cheating: Anyone found cheating
on any exam will automatically receive an F for the entire course and will be
brought before the Office of Student Judical Affairs. Ultimately, this can
lead to expulsion from the University. Make-up exams: There will be no
make-up exams. Failure to take an exam without an excuse will result in a
zero grade for the missed exam. If you have a legitimate excuse, your absence
will be accepted for only one missed exam, and only if you contact the
lecturing professor or one of the GSIs one week before the exam and provide
convincing documentation within one week of the exam to support your request.
Credit for the missed exam will be calculated based on your average
performance on the exams that you do take. Regrades: Written regrade requests must be presented to your GSI within seven days after the exams are returned. To be eligible for a regrade you must have answered your exam questions in pen. You must present to your GSI the graded exam and a written proposal describing why you believe an error was made. The entire exam will then be subjected to a regrade. Exams will be copied before they are returned. Altering an exam to gain points on a regrade is cheating. Any alteration of an exam submitted for a regrade will be considered as cheating and will result in an F for the course. |
