BIOLOGY 1A & 1AL
SPRING SEMESTER 2010
Since you answered "YES" to the preceeding question, you are classified as a repeating enrollment student. As a repeating enrollment student, you have low priority for enrollment in the classes in the Fall or Spring semesters.
Please find the category below that matches your particular case.
Students who need to repeat enrollment and are already on the Degree List for the upcoming term:
Students in this category do not have low priority and may enroll normally.
If you are on the Degree List (by November 9th for 1AL or January 7th for 1A) , you may enroll in the class(es) you need to repeat to receive a passing grade. You will not be dropped from the classes because of your repeating status unless you have already received a C- or better grade in that class.
Click here to continue to the enrollment instructions.
Students who need to repeat enrollment in one or both classes and are not on the Degree List:
Students in this catergory are not permitted to enroll directly, and may only add to the waiting lists starting January 15th.
Students repeating enrollment and not on the Degree List have low priority and cannot enroll normally in the class(es). You must wait until January 15th before you can add to the waiting lists for the classes. At that time, you may only add yourself to the waiting list(s) for the class(es). You must then wait to see if there is space for you to be enrolled.
Please return here for further instructions which will be posted in the future. You may also subscribe to the bio1a_repeating mailing list to receive notifications about repeating student enrollment. Click here to subscribe.
Students who have completed and passed Bio 1A without taking 1AL because of an exemption from Simultaneous enrollment by major:
Students in this catergory are not permitted to enroll in the class direclty, and may only add to the 1AL waiting list starting January 15th.
Having used the exemption to take Bio1A without 1AL, you have the lowest priority for enrollment in Bio 1AL even in the Summer Sessions.
To have a chance to be enrolled, you must contact Erol Kepkep, the Enrollment Coordinator, at bio1a-enrollment@berkeley.edu. It is highly unlikely you could be enrolled. Your highest probability is in Summer Sessions. No matter what, you will not know if there is a possibility for you to be enrolled until the first or second week of the term.
Students who have already passed one or both classes with a C- or better grade and want to repeat that calss for a better grade:
Students in this catergory are not permitted to enroll in the class directly, and may only add to the waiting lists starting January 15th.
If you wish to enroll again to improve your grade, this is possible, but you will have low priority for enrollment. If you do enroll in the class(es), you will be dropped.
To find out how you could have a chance to be enrolled, you must contact Erol Kepkep, the Enrollment Coordinator, at bio1a-enrollment@berkeley.edu, and provide a complete explanation of your case.
